Blood Charged Is out & Enter to Win a Signed Paperback of Republic

The latest adventure with Sardelle, Ridge, Tolemek, and Cas is out, the third novel in the Dragon Blood series. You can grab it at Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo (Apple coming soon).

BloodChargedCoverForWebSardelle Terushan, sorceress and healer, should be lying low. Magic is forbidden in Iskandia, and magic users are drowned, shot, or otherwise slain. The problem? She’s fallen in love with ace fighter pilot and national hero, Colonel Ridge Zirkander, a man whom everybody notices, including the king. It’s not long before Sardelle has spies dogging her steps and people trying to blow her up. Worse, her presence is jeopardizing Ridge’s career. If she can’t find a solution to the nation’s centuries-old hatred of magic, the only way to protect Ridge—and herself—may be to leave.

Ridge Zirkander isn’t used to worrying about more than shooting down Cofah airships and keeping the officers in his squadron alive, but his world has gotten more complicated since giving his heart to Sardelle. It’s difficult to keep people from noticing a mysterious and enigmatic woman, not to mention her chatty sentient sword. He’s been passing her off as an archaeologist to his fellow pilots, but when the king calls him in to a private meeting, Ridge fears his secret has been discovered.

But the king—and the rest of the country—has a greater problem. Cofah military scientists have acquired something that shouldn’t exist in the world any longer: dragon blood. In addition to having countless mysterious properties, it’s a powerful energy source that can be used to create devastating weapons. Ridge, Sardelle, and their allies must travel to the empire as part of a secret strike force to steal the dragon blood. If they fail, the Cofah will finally have the power to destroy all of Iskandia.

You can also leave a comment here at the bottom of the blog post (favorite character from the EE series or anything you’d like to share), and I’ll pick some winners out of there too. I have ten books to give away!

  1. Carole blake says:

I would have to say the two main characters..Amaranthe and Sicarnius ..it has been interesting to follow their development… especially Sircarnius .

    • Dawn says:

Favorite character is Sicarius. I love how he starts to interact with all the others from Amaranthe to Sespian and all the rest of the motley crew. Seeing him become more and more “human” was one of the best parts of the books for me.

  2. Emma says:

I’m going to be SUPER original and say Maldynado!

  3. Alyson says:

Favorite EE character would be Sicarius. One of my favorite relationships is Sicarius & Sespian trying to figure out how to connect and relate to one another. For some reason, I’m partial to parent/child relationships, regardless of age.

  4. Hydrophilo says:

Favorite characters? Tough one! Favorite character is Amaranthe & favorite dialogue between characters is Sicarius and Maldynado. Lots of laughs every time 🙂

  5. Lindsey says:

Sicarius most definitely. He changed the most as the series progressed and you couldn’t help but root for him along the journey. He and Amaranthe take the cake and are my top favorite male and female lead characters in a book 🙂

  6. emyl says:

The irrepressible Amaranthe is my favorite – resourceful, determined, unstoppably positive. What a role model!

But, really, who *wouldn’t* sigh a little over Sicarius? Lucky, lucky (but totally deserving!) Amaranthe!!

  7. Jamie Flowers says:

They all balance each other out so well it’s hard to choose a favorite. I will say the one I find sexiest is Sicarius. Talk, dark, handsome, deadly. The perfect mix.

  8. da sa says:

Maldynado is my favorite! His story with his friends (Deret), sister, brothers and parents would make a series of its own. He hides his intelligence and leadership abilities. Every glimpse of him in the series is so deep even though he tries hard to be shallow!

  9. Sarah says:

    My favorite is/was Books…RIP 🙁

  10. Elyse L says:

My favorite is Sicarius. Buuuut, let’s face it, its hard to pick just one. 🙂

  11. Zoe A Schoppa says:

It is so hard to choose! I am always a fan of a strong competent female so I love Amaranthe. Sicarius wouldn’t be my kind of guy but I love his character.

  12. Matt Renyard (@sc00by79) says:

    More Books please ☺

  13. Fricka says:

All your characters are amazing and complex but I think I may have to give the nod to Yara. I always enjoy the moments when she has some page time.

  14. Barbara Foster says:

Sespian, I think. I’m a sucker for frail young men bearing more responsibility than they should have to.

  15. laurel says:

Just want to see how deadpan grows up.

  16. A tough one, but I will say Sicarius

  17. Stephanie says:

I love Malydonado. He keeps everything light

  18. Patricia Eddy says:

    Amaranthe.

  19. Stacey says:

My favorite character from the EE world is Tikaya. Out of am your books, her and Tolemek are my favorites so far. I like scientist types who are passionate about their work!

  20. Laurie says:

Books was my favorite! When he found he had the strength within himself to fight and reach for a goal. It is like I actually knew he was going to “sacrifice” himself to save a young man. It was meant to be. The only thing I wished for was that the statue that Maldynado finally had made was actually of Books. In my mind there is a statue to commemorate Books.

  21. Barry says:

This is one question that at first glance seems easy to answer, indeed one name came immediately to mind and then I began to think…

In that story set I like this character but in those tales I like that one, and the interaction with those characters in a third series always makes me smile!

Finally I arrived back at my first thought, for introducing me to the world of Steam Punk and actually making a reader like me look forward to the next adventure, my vote has to go to Amaranthe Lokdon.

    I think 🙂

  22. AW Exley says:

I just wanted to say I have been following your blog for a long time now and always devour your posts about your indie journey and try to implement what I can. I self published a novella a couple of weeks ago and there’s only one book stopping us from making #1 on the steampunk list – Blood Charged! lol

I think I am learning your lessons well. Onward and upward 😉

    • Lindsay says:

Heya AW, I always see your books in the steampunk category. Looks like you’re doing great!

      • AW Exley says:

Thank you . Like I said I owe part of it to you, I soak up everything you post about your indie journey, so please don’t stop! Just wanted to let you know how much it has helped newbies like me when you share your knowledge. I know many other authors aren’t so open.

        • Lindsay says:

Thank you. I think you get to start sharing all of your knowledge at this point! I just raised the price on Blood Charged, so I bet you’ll be #1 there, if you’re not already. 😀
